Support for Carers of People with Dementia

Carers of West Lothian, in partnership with NHS Lothian, are about to begin a support group for carers of those with moderate/severe dementia. The first meeting of the group will take place on the 13th of May in the Strathbrock Centre, in Broxburn. Initially, the group will run for eight weeks from 10am to 12pm every Thursday morning.

The first hour of the group will be used to provide carers with useful information ranging from the process of dementia and challenging behaviour to positive thinking and relaxation techniques. The final hour of the group will be used purely as a social hour where carers can talk about their situation or indeed anything they are interested in.
