Carers Week - 14th - 20th June 2004

It is a well known fact that carers are far better equipped to carry out their caring role when they themselves are healthy and free from stress. However, the very nature of caring is stressful, and so often the carer's own health suffers as a direct result of caring. National Carers Week this year is focussing on the health of carers, and so Carers of West Lothian is taking the opportunity to pamper carers in West Lothian by providing free holistic therapy sessions during the course of this week.

Deer Park in Livingston has also kindly offered a day's membership to the Country Club for one lucky carer and a friend. A prize draw will take place and the winner will be able to enjoy a day of relaxation and pampering. To enter your name in this draw you have to be a carer and known to our organisation. The draw will take place on Friday 18th June - so don't delay!

Throughout the course of Carers' Week Carers of West Lothian will have information stands displayed in the Almondvale Shopping Centre (outside West Lothian Connected), in St John's Hospital during afternoon visiting times, and in the Strathbrock Partnership Centre. In addition there will be a garden plant sale in Strathbrock on the mornings of 14th, 17th and 18th June with all proceeds directly benefiting carers.
