CARERS of WEST LOTHIAN
Providing Support, Information and a A Voice for Carers in West Lothian

Carers of West Lothian Press Release - 4th June 2004

Carers from West Lothian Take a Break

Following the success of last years initiative, where 9 carers and their families enjoyed a week in Blackpool, Carers of West Lothian are delighted to again offer a free holiday to some of West Lothian's carers during National Carers Week - 14th to 18th June 04. The main aim of this initiative is to provide a much deserved break to carers from their caring role but also give carers the opportunity to meet other people in similar situations.

This year the response to this initiative has been incredible and we are delighted that we have been able to offer 15 places to carers and their families. There is a full entertainment programme to suit all ages and abilities as well as leisure facilities on site. Additional events organised for this week include Alice in Wonderland's Tea Party/Cabaret Show, Welfare Rights Check, Tickets for Tower Circus in Blackpool and Alternative Therapies.

Carers of West Lothian offers support, advice and a listening ear to carers across West Lothian looking after family members or friends who are unable to care for themselves. For further information or help you can contact Mary-Denise McKernan on 01506 771750 or visit the Carers Centre located within the Strathbrock Partnership Centre, 189a West Main Street, Broxburn, open Mon - Fri 10.00am - 3.00pm.
