Carers from West Lothian Take a Break

Following the success of last year's initiative, where carers and their families enjoyed a week in Blackpool, Carers of West Lothian was delighted to offer a free holiday to some of West Lothian's carers during National Carers Week 13th - 17th June 2005. The main aim of this initiative was to provide a break to carers from their caring role and to give carers the opportunity to meet other people in similar situations.

There was a good response and three carers and their families were offered places on this year's holiday. Carers enjoyed a full entertainment programme to suit all ages and abilities as well as leisure facilities on site. In addition events were organised for the carers such as a tea party, a cabaret and free tickets to Blackpool Tower and Ballroom.
