CARERS of WEST LOTHIAN
Providing Support, Information and a A Voice for Carers in West Lothian

Carers Rights Day Friday 8th December 2006

Carers Rights Day supports the UK's six million carers - people who look after a sick or disabled friend, partner or relative.  Many carers are not aware of the services and benefits available to them and the thousands of local events taking place across the UK will help to promote the support that does exist for carers.

This year, Carers Rights Day is focusing on increasing the take up of benefits available to carers, ensuring that carers access their rights and understand the legislation, increase older carers up take of Pension Credit and generally raise awareness of carers issues.

Carers of West Lothian, the organisation providing support, advice and a listening ear to carers across West Lothian will, in partnership with the local Pension Service, have an information stand in the main foyer at the Strathbrock Partnership Centre Broxburn on the 8th of December 2006.  Here we will aim to answer any questions on services available to carers, welfare rights, disability benefits and pensions.  All carers will be welcome to drop in between 10:00am and 15:00pm on the day.
