Rotary Donation Funds Free Holistic Therapy for West Lothian Carers

Carers of West Lothian would like to say a huge "Thank You" to the Members and Committee of The Linlithgow Grange Rotary Club for the very generous donation of £2,500 presented to Carers of West Lothian in September 2006.

We are well aware that such donations are only made possible by the hard work carried out by the Rotary Club in organising and running a variety of fund raising events locally and so were delighted to be chosen as one of the local organisations to benefit from their efforts.

Due to the success of last year's programme, and in response to continued requests, we have decided to use the donation to fund more sessions of Holistic Therapy treatments for carers throughout the county.

Finding the opportunity to relax, along with maintaining good health and well-being, are important elements in allowing carers to continue providing the most effective level of care for the relative or friend they support.

Carers will have a choice of holistic treatments from Aromatherapy, Reiki, Reflexology and Indian Head Massage.  Each therapy brings its own benefits and a discussion with the therapist will be carried out before masking a final choice of treatment.

In order to make this free service accessible to the greatest possible number of carers we will be offering, where appropriate, the option for carers to have treatment at home.

Carers who want to access the service away from their own home will receive these treatments in venues suitable for groups or individuals, as appropriate.

Any carer who feels that they would like to take advantage of this offer should contact Jim Brown at the Carers of West Lothian Centre on 01506 771750.
