West Lothian Young Carers Partnership
Information for Young Carers
Young carers can be aged between 5 and 18 and can do a range of tasks in and around the house. They are sometimes left alone to do the caring and some of their tasks may involve washing, cooking, shopping, dressing the person they care for and much more. Young carers may even sometimes give medicine, take care of the household bills and manage the money, help wash the person they care for and look after younger siblings.
West Lothian Young Carer Partnership Support Workers will support, guide and advise young carers, between the ages of 10 and 16, on issues that they have about being a young carer and a young person. They can do this through individual work, group work and school partnership work.
Young Carers Information Booklet - Our useful booklet is now available as a 1Mb pdf for download or viewing on-line.
